Overview

Horizontal Extender: The KiNEDx Rail is a high-speed linear actuator for extending the horizontal reach of the KiNEDx Robot from 0.5 meter up to 2.0 meters.

Seamless Integration: This rail package is designed to be integral with the KiNEDx Robot. Wiring for both devices is routed through the flexible wiretrack. High-flex “robot” cabling is used for virtually infinite life.

Controller: No separate controller is required. All electronics reside onboard and a separate serial cable connects between the Rail and PC. Automatic control is accomplished with simple serial commands or through the robot interface. Teaching is easily done with the robot’s teach pendant.

Drive System: A single servomotor (identical to the robot) powers a zero-backlash reducer and zero-backlash timing belt. This arrangement ensures excellent repeatability, high speed, and very long life.

Applications: Layouts that involve linear arrangements of instruments, such as a bank of plate readers, benefit from the KiNEDx Rail allowing unhindered access to all the instruments. Additional applications include transferring between two work cells, or perhaps accessing a large bank of stored microplates.
