Robotic Grippers
End-Effectors

We build both pneumatic and electric end-effectors to function as the “hand” in your automated system. Our standard units are made to fit directly onto the KiNEDx robot and are designed to handle most every microplate applicaiton there is. They can easily be modified for other non-standard applications.

      Summary

Pneumatic: Our pneumatic grippers are fast and inexpensive. Air pressure opens the gripper and a spring is used to close the gripper. The spring ensures the gripper will not drop its payload in the event of a power outage.

• 12mm stroke
• Landscape or portrait
• Failsafe spring closing
• Very fast operation
• Single pneumatic line
• Plate presence sensor
• Adaptable to many applications
Summary

Electric: Our electric grippers are servo driven and the most compact design on the market. They are fully programmable with adjustable open and close points. They can also be programmed to close down to a specified force rather than position, which is great for picking up lids. The drive mechanism cannot be back-driven and will not drop its payload in the event of a power outage.

• 54mm stroke
• Landscape and Portrait
• Fully programmable
• Smart servo motor, RS-232
• Simple command set
• Plate presence sensor
• Adaptable to many applications
Summary

Custom Grippers: We have built many different types of specialized grippers over the years and our engineers can create any type of end-effector your system needs.

• Unlimited possibilities
• Quick change adapters
• Over-torque protection
• Electric or pneumatic
• Any payload
• Any robot
• Multiple actuators

Custom Fingers: Our grippers are available with or without fingers for standard SBS microplates. We can also create a set of fingers to meet your needs. The fingers shown at right were designed for a special tube and vial rack that is being stored in a random access hotel.
