Common Applications

Peak Robotics' products are used primarily in the life sciences field. The most common is the automated handling and storage of microtitre plates but there are many other applications such as diagnostics where our robots are handling slides, tubes, trays, tips, and even silicon wafers.

A system with a KiNEDx robot in it is usually laid out in a cluster cell arrangement because of the robot's cylindrical work envelope. The robot is placed at the center of the system and multiple robot access points are placed around the robot radially. Some larger systems may require more space and if so, the robot can be mounted on a linear rail to greatly extend the horizontal reach.

Below are several examples of common system layouts.

Plate Replication

  • KiNEDx Robot, extended height
  • Fast process time - robot transfers two plates at-a-time
  • 315 plate capacity
  • Extended walk-away time

Compound Screening, Large System

  • KiNEDx Robot mounted on 2 meter Rail
  • Plates pulled from large compound storage
  • Robot has plate inverting capabilities for compound re-suspension
  • Simultaneous analysis done with multiple Flow Cytometers
  • Bar code label apply

Plate Replication

  • KiNEDx Robot, standard height
  • Micro dispensing
  • De-lid
  • Thermal seal of plates
